Magic Optimizer 6.0 can help you with migrating from Client Server to RIA paradigm. These are the issues which should be addressed before migration:
- Unsupported functions, controls, variables, properties and events - a list of unavailable items in a Rich Client task
- Operations and expressions - some are executed on server and some on client, wrong usage causes issues
- Batch Calling Rich Client Task - Batch tasks are executed on the server and, therefore, they cannot call interactive Rich Client tasks
- Phantom tasks - Phantom tasks are no longer needed in Client-Server applications since the Subform control was introduced
- Child Window - Tasks with Window Type = Child is only executed within the constraints of a subform or a frame. New window will not open.
- I/O Devices - all reports are generated on server, I/O Devices are not availabe in Rich Client tasks
